This leaking shower repair, in the bathroom of a unit in Dee Why on the Northern Beaches Sydney, was completed in April 2020.
This unit in the beachside suburb of Dee Why had been rented for few years. When the tenants moved out the owner decided to sell so wanted the property presented at its best.
While the unit was located in one of Dee Why’s newer apartment buildings and the bathroom was only a few years old, a few years of neglect meant the wall and floor tile grout was hard to clean and the silicone around the shower screen was mouldy and yellowing.
First, we removed the existing grout from between the floor and wall tiles along with the old silicone. Once cleaned up, we colour matched the existing grout and regrouted it in a matching dark grey grout on the floor and off-white on the walls. Along the walls and shower screen we applied new silicone.
The result was impressive and the shower looked great. With a bit of elbow grease from the owner, the shower screen will look as good as new.
This is a very cost-effective refresh of any bathroom looking a little tired without having to undertake an expensive or stressful bathroom renovation. Additionally, the shower is now waterproofed and will stand the test of time.
